With Me Through Everything
Psalm 71 : 1 - 6
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me.
Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go;
give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.
Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.
For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.
From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
I will ever praise you.
I give you thanks O Lord, for the knowledge that you are the source of my life.
I give you praise that you are not only the source from which I come,
but to which I can always return.
For wherever I am and whatever I do,
still you listen for me,
and still you love me.
Already life has brought me through many different experiences,
some very painful and others very pleasant,
yet I know, even if I was not always aware at the time,
that you were always close,
always to be relied on to keep me safe and to deliver me.
So may the faith which is growing in me guide my thoughts and my words and my actions.
May I move through today, and every day which lies ahead,
with increasing confidence in your ever faithful presence.
May I ever praise you, whether I feel despair or delight,
knowing that you are my rock of refuge, to which I can always go,
and to which, in the end, I shall surely return.
