CROSSING THE LINE
Phil 3:12
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved theses things or that I have already reached perfection, but I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus has first me.
I don’t think we ever reach the end of our journey in this life. Perhaps there is no tangible summit.
We will never achieve all that we see that needs to be completed. However we must never stop trying to complete the task. We will falter and stumble and fail many times, but our text this morning reminds us that we press on looking to finish that to which our Lord has called us. We must finish with the same enthusiasm we had when we first started.
Lord Jesus
Let me never lose my desire to serve
To run in the race
Alongside the ones who could lose
Give me the grace
To keep going
Even if others no longer follow
When I stumble and fall
When I misread the signs
Teach me the way of the cross
Help me to walk the road of humility
Turn the weight and the baggage of the journey
From a cross into a crown
Give me the strength
To carry the dispossessed
To speak out against injustice
To believe that one day
We will all cross the line
With shouts of Joy.
