Creator
Colossians 1:15-20
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Lord of creation, Word of life.
You made this universe, seen and unseen.
You made this galaxy, this solar system, this star that is our sun.
You made this planet, planted as a garden in time and space.
You made the oceans, you made the mountains.
You made the clouds that water this earth.
You made the molecules, the atoms, the protons, the neutrons, the electrons.
You made the quarks and the bosons.
You made them all through your Word and by your Spirit.
You made the plants: the trees and the grasses.
You made the seeds: the vegetables and fruits to nourish us.
You made the animals: the whales and the flies.
You made them all.
You created us in your image, to care for your creation.
Lord, help us to remember that we are all precious in your sight.
Help us to cherish everything that you have made.
Amen.
