1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

John 13: 34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Colossians 3: 12

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

The intentional creativity of love….  
Love knows what makes a person smile,
Love knows how to encourage,
Love knows how to be kind, gentle, even in the face of unkindness and criticism, love knows.
Love will always find a way….
To create a space for reconciliation
….for growth
…..for healing

These things love does with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Here we are, God’s people, called to love one another; called to love our enemies; quite simply we are called to love, to love and to care.

Lord, We give thanks for how love has motivated others to imagine what it would be like and how it would look to reach out to those in distress, and we give thanks for all those who have made it their life’s work to help make people whole, to love people back to life.
For The Samaritans, for Childline; the AA and many others- we give thanks for those who lovingly provide places of refuge for the broken; the homeless; the asylum seeker.
We thank you Creative God for the gift of inspired imagination, 
For vision of a better way to be; 
For the courage of those who have taken their ideas and imaginings and brought about a better way.
We thank you that the hopeless and the helpless can catch a glimpse of your tomorrow, today.  
May we continue to live in your love and to act out of love in each and every situation in which we find ourselves.
Waking from the dream to gaze and wonder at the triumph of creative, self-giving love and all it is accomplishing this day.
