Being a kid
Matthew 18: 1-4
Who Is the Greatest?
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn andbecome like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
1 Corinthians 13: 8-12
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
“why can’t I hold onto just being a kid?
Have I grown past the things I used to do?”
We yearn to grow.
We fear to change.
I long for more.
I grieve at the thought of losing what I have.
I work to help you to change.
I struggle when that brings you pain,
when I cause you pain.
Transformation hurts.
Love never fails.
Jesus loves me, this I know…
