ALL THINGS NEW
Ecclesiasted 1:9
“There is nothing new under the sun”.
(Ecclesiasted 1:9)
“Behold I am making all things new”.
(Revelation 21:5)
Lord, it’s a whole new world out there with Twitter and Google and Facebook and Instagram and LinkedIn and YouTube and . . . . well . . . . the list of digital media goes on and on and on.
The world is changing so fast it can be hard to keep up.
Weren’t Bebo and MySpace the “in things” just a short while ago?
Now they seem to be almost redundant. [In fact, maybe they don’t exist anymore. See what I mean, Lord - it’s hard to keep up!]
Creator God, who knows all things, and is surely within the creative process of change in your world, help me to make sense of it all.
There can be questions for many people about whether ‘cyber-relationships’ are real relationships or not:
People we never or seldom see, but are numbered amongst our list of ‘friends’.
People we may communicate with in tweets but never actually meet in any streets.
People we watch on videos but never look out for in more tangible ways.
Yet at the end of each clip, tweet, like . . . the people a definitely real enough.
Oh, Lord, assist your church to relate within all this new, developing, digitization.
Where theology and technology merge, bring new life out of the old; sense out of the confusion, transformation amidst the information.
AMEN.
