A life of grace

Acts 20:22-24

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

God, you knows it's not easy
living a life of grace
Grace that doesn't just consist of
grinning and bearing it
or being tolerant of others
when we disagree with them
or even abhor their actions.
But grace, that really stimulates love
from the inside out
Grace that stirs compassion in us
Grace that moves us
to work for justice
Grace that bears the kind of hardship
that we must bear
for the sake of the gospel
But that's the kind of grace
that Christ lived
So help us to follow.
