Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Surely, Lord God, your act of creation was a festival of artwork. A canvas for the three of you to paint together, to bless one another with strokes of love and power and everything: and now that spectrum of energy and colour blesses our senses daily. We see you dancing in the desert, we hear you singing in the night, we feel you touching earth with velvet fingers. We offer you our wonder, God who is wonderful and yet has room for more.

Today we shall write a new story, paint a fresh picture, craft another poem. It will not be perfect, as perfection lies in front of us always. But it will be good, because it is your gift of life which we celebrate each day. It will be ours, and we want to make it yours. So we pray, in Jesus’ strong and holy name, Amen.
