Christmas Discussion Questions

Every month at Sanctuary First we develop a set of discussion questions that adapt our theme material for a small group context. They are a set of conversation starters and prompts that draw on the ideas and Biblical texts being explored in our Daily Worship.

Each set of questions is divided into numbered parts that correspond with each week of the theme it relates to but these are simply offered as a guide. You can approach the questions however you want, picking and choosing what works for your group.  You may want to meet weekly and go through a section a week or you might prefer to break it up in a different way.

Want an excuse to arrange a catch up with friends over mulled wine and mince pies? Or got a long tedious family car journey you need to fill? Perhaps you are looking for new material for a group that already meets regularly? Or maybe you and your partner are keen to chat about life and faith this Advent? If so you can use these questions as a starting point to consider the amazing and unfolding story of God’s journey to our world as a vulnerable refugee with a message of hope and love for the entire world. It a message that has inspired countless traditions and ways of celebrating and continues to inspire us - what can we learn from how others celebrate?
