The Father’s Seedlings

Listen to this daily worship
John 15: 1 (NIVUK)
11 ‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
My Dad loves the garden. He especially loves starting single seeds from scratch. Starting them off on a piece of wet kitchen paper in their own mini greenhouse of a recycled plastic cake package. What a joy when the wee roots start shooting out! My Dad will then tenderly care for and nurture these tiny seedlings until they grow into wee plants that can be potted on. The love and care does not stop there, it’s ongoing. He uses all his skills to allow his plants to thrive, giving those that may be stunted extra attention and support so they have the chance to flourish.
Jesus said that our heavenly Father is the gardener. We are his creation, his seedlings. He loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus as an example for us to live by, to help us grow into healthy plants. Who, when we fail to thrive, when we deviate from healthy ways, when we grow weak, gives us chance after chance to recover through the strength and resurrecting love of Jesus.
Prayer:
Our Father the Gardener,
You plant us in your love.
Thank you for your nurturing love
Thank you that you care for us no matter the weather.
Thank you that we can grow with you
Fed by your life giving water
So that we can bear fruit
That is pleasing to you
Amen
