Golden glory!
Listen to this daily worship
Luke 2: 13-14 (NRSVA)
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
14
‘Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace among those whom he favours!’
Have you ever been to a concert or seen a film or viewed a piece of art that stunned you into silence by its brilliance? Magnify that by about a billion for what the shepherds experienced that night. A heavenly host of angels filled the sky praising God.
What a sight! What a sound! How blessed are these shepherds to witness this manifestation of God’s glory. In that instant they must have been profoundly changed.
That night was God on amplification but we have to remember that that night was super special. God had done something never done before, he was emannuelling, he had been born among us. That was something all of heaven had to sing about.
It might be quieter for us today but through the power of the Holy Spirit God is working in us, through us and around us every day. We just have to be aware and take notice.
Prayer:
Emmanuel, God with us
Help me to see you in action
In the busyness
In the noise
In the quietness
Amen
