Re: Commit
Listen to this daily worship
Psalm 47 (NRSVA)
To the leader. Of the Korahites. A Psalm.
1 Clap your hands, all you peoples;
shout to God with loud songs of joy.
2 For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome,
a great king over all the earth.
3 He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
4 He chose our heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves.Selah5 God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the king of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm.8 God is king over the nations;
God sits on his holy throne.
9 The princes of the peoples gather
as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
he is highly exalted.

Dear Korah family,
I just wanted to write and say how much I appreciated this latest song of praise from you. The last one (the 46th) really expressed our confidence in the LORD, and how powerful He is in the face of all that oppresses us.
But this one, number 47, WOW! It just makes us all want to sing from the rooftops (maybe, Director, we could actually do that?!?!). We’re just waiting on the music, but I’ll bet it has trumpets, tambourines, lyres, cymbals — the full works! We just can’t wait to lead praise with it. I’ve talked to the others here and we’re all in! Fully committed, bring it on!
Yours,
Anna
PS It’ll be a great piece when the ark of the covenant comes into our midst, here in the temple. Caleb thought that we could end with “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise, the city of our God, the Holy place”? If not, feel free to use it for the next one.
Prayer:
From the rooftops we want to sing your praise, O Lord.
Fill us to bursting with pride in you, O Lord. For you are our King over all the earth, and we rejoice in being under your protective wing.
For a moment, lift from us our burdens and cares for this place and its people. Let us be in your nearer presence, in a Holy place, awaiting your presence.
As you draw near, we sing praise, sing praise, and sing praise.
Then, return us to the here and now, transformed, re:set and re:committed to your work and world.
Amen
