Listen to this daily worship

Isaiah 60: 1-6 (NRSVA)

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
    and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

For darkness shall cover the earth,
    and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
    and his glory will appear over you.

Nations shall come to your light,
    and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Lift up your eyes and look around;
    they all gather together, they come to you;
your sons shall come from far away,
    and your daughters shall be carried on their nurses’ arms.

Then you shall see and be radiant;
    your heart shall thrill and rejoice,
because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you,
    the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

A multitude of camels shall cover you,
    the young camels of Midian and Ephah;
    all those from Sheba shall come.
They shall bring gold and frankincense,
    and shall proclaim the praise of the Lord.

God is not static and does not intend us to be, we are made for vibrant, radiant, ignited life!

Where do we want to see faith re-ignited this Epiphany? In our home? In our place of work or study? In our friendship circle? In our wider families? In our neighbourhoods? In our community centres? In the high street? In the corridors of power? In our hospitals? At the stock exchange? At international summits? In factories? In laboratories?

In our churches?

Prayer:

Reignite us at Sanctuary First Holy Spirit as we reset at the start of this new year

hearts and hands open as we seek to follow you.

Across society reignite our shared public spaces and projects — that all might feel they have a stake in them, that they belong there.

Reignite our economy, to blaze with compassion not profit

Reignite the hard work of peacemakers everywhere.

We ask not to be ignited,

for from our first spark, our first breath,

you ignited us.

We ask only to be reignited

to flame once more.

Amen.
