9 ‘As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
Love is the supreme gift. What more could we ask?
God loves his beloved Son, and Jesus loves me!
Love is the patient gift.
We may take a while to unwrap it properly.
We may not appreciate it all at once.
We may come back to it and find new delights.
Love is the sharing gift.
It can’t be kept in its box.
It can’t be hoarded for a rainy day.
It can’t be eked out in small doses.
Love is the indestructible gift.
It won’t go off,
it won’t wear out,
it won’t fade.
Love is from God, who pours it out without measure.
What a gift!
Prayer:
God of love, we praise you.
God of Jesus, we praise you.
God of gifts, we praise you.
Give us, we pray, the water of life to renew and refresh us.
