Psalm 130 (NRSVA)

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.

    Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
    Lord, who could stand?

But there is forgiveness with you,
so that you may be revered.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
    and in his word I hope;

my soul waits for the Lord
more than those who watch for the morning,
more than those who watch for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is great power to redeem.

It is he who will redeem Israel
    from all its iniquities.

The yeast is in the mix. All that’s needed now is patience while it does its work. The baker can’t do any more, it’s all up to the yeast. It’s time to step away from the dough and trust the process.

How many times do we try to fix a situation or make something happen when we really should let the Holy Spirit do the fixing and make the changes?

Sometimes we just need to let go and let God.

God will do the work. We may not see it happening. We may not understand what’s unfolding. But God is in charge.

Prayer:

Lord, God,

Help us recognise when we need to step back,

to let go,

to hand over,

and trust —

trust that you are the One

who always knows

what’s best.

Bless our efforts.

To you be all glory!

Amen
