Philippians 3: 17-21 (NRSVA)

17 Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us. 18 For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ; I have often told you of them, and now I tell you even with tears. 19 Their end is destruction; their god is the belly; and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. 21 He will transform the body of our humiliation so that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.

Born here,

Lived here,

From here.

And yet…

Not of here,

Dwellers here,

Feet of clay,

Experts in the ways of here,

And yet…

Not meant for here,

Not called to stay here,

Fluent in the ways of another place,

Journeyers,

Pilgrims,

Just passing through…

Citizens of another Kingdom,

A heavenly place,

A little bit of there in the here and now…

Seeds of love, seeds of joy…

Sowing seeds of hope, of what might be,

Seeds of there, scattered here.

Bringing that Kingdom in.

Changing hearts, transforming lives

With every word, touch, or thought of love.

Pray:

Heavenly King

Equip us and strengthen us

As we journey on

From here to there

Spreading the seeds of your Kingdom as we go…

In Jesus’s name Amen.
