#SeeTheGlory: Writer Roundup

This Christmas, at Sanctuary First we are inviting you to ‘Take a moment’ to experience joy, glory, peace, and love.

In our Daily Worship this week we are encouraging one another to take a moment - to get out into nature, to re-read the story, to sit quietly in wonder - to #SeeTheGlory. Watch our #SeeTheGlory clip on Facebook.

We are delighted to feature more contributions from our Advent partners CrossReach and Christian Aid Scotland and we encourage you to look into the invaluable work both organisations are doing at this time and throughout the year.

It is also our pleasure this week to feature contributions from Peter Neilson, John Povey and Eliza Cargill.

Peter is currently acting as Locum for the Parish of Crail and Kingsbarns, which he describes wonderfully as “all part of the recycling of retired ministers!” He says he is “looking forward to all our family being together this Christmas before our youngest daughter and her family head off to New Zealand for two years.” Peter is a longstanding friend of and contributor to Sanctuary First and it is a privilege to feature him.

John has been a Church of Scotland minister since 1981, serving as parish minister in Mid Calder. He says, “It is a busy church, and we look forward to Christmas, when many familiar people who have moved away return to spend Christmas with family and come along to our services. I find much joy at Christmas in such reunions, in singing again the old familiar carols, and remembering the wonder of the Incarnation.” John and Albert recently collaborated on a service to recognise 500 years of the Reformation.

Eliza is a gifted musician and part of our Sanctuary First worship team, playing at several of our SF: Live events. She says, “The joy in Christmas for me can be found in the singing! I love singing of God’s love and worshipping! Christmastime is when everyone does it! Kids at School services, carol concerts, communities round Christmas trees, friends at parties enjoying their mulled wine and families as they shop and wrap and prepare! It’s awesome to hear.”

Comment below or on Facebook/Twitter and let us know how you are going to #SeeTheGlory this Christmas.
